Applied Research at FBK
About FBK
Fondazione Bruno Kessler is a private entity established in 1962 by the Autonomous Province of Trento. The mission of FBK is to carry on high-level research in the fields of science and technology, as well as humanities, at close contact with industrial and productive partners in the region of Trentino and beyond. This encourages a lean know-how exchange and implementation, for the benefit of partner stakeholders.
Activity
My service, started in February 2026, involves mainly two axes. On the one hand, I’m working on MLOps aspects. On the other hand, the research activity. I work in the OpenIoT unit. The activities of this unit involve the digitalization of the agricultural productive segment, the the development of predictive models trained on the data acquired. The objective is to provide to the agricultural producers the means to optimize irrigation, thus a better management of the available resources.
My contributions are
- Leveraging my prior experience in model industrialization, the development of a MLOps platform for internal use. This gives to the machine learning scientist of my team the possibility to focus more on model design over deployment infrastructure. This implies fast iteration and the possibility to have a standardized development pattern across all the team
- In a second moment, the activity will involve water resources prediction model development.
